Recently, the delegation of Whitecliffe College of New Zealand led by Chairman Feroz Ali visited USY. Dr. Lu Dan, President of USY, met with the delegation at the meeting room of Shuhai Guan. The both sides had an in-depth discussion on strengthening joint cooperation.
Dr. Lu Dan welcomed the visit of Mr. Ali and his colleagues and he expressed his ideas on the cooperation program and other plans with Whitecliffe College. He said that the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port provided a good opportunity to cooperate between USY and Whitecliffe, and he hoped that both sides should strengthen communication and worked together to promote a win-win collaboration and development. Mr. Ali appreciated the educational achievements in talent cultivation, and he suggested that both institutions would exchange teachers and students, conduct various academic research and exchange and improve educational and academic level. Both sides reviewed the occasion for acquaintance and how to arrive at the consensus on cooperation as well as discuss on the preliminary progress of the proposed cooperation program, the phased results and the plan for the following work.
Prof. Thompson, the dean of School of Design Innovation introduced the abundant innovative industrial resources and international brands in New Zealand. Whitecliffe College focuses on the goal of cultivating student’s creativity by setting up School of Fine Arts, School of Creative Therapy, School of Design Innovation, School of Information Technology, and School of Fashion and Sustainability.
Dr. Lu Dan and Mr. Ali signed on the MOU. Both institutions will have a deep cooperation in many fields so as to promote the educational causes of USY and Whitecliffe.
Whitecliffe College is one of New Zealand’s highest ranked and awarded research institutions in the private sector and has a long-standing record of academic excellence. Whitecliffe has a history of more than 130 years and develop from three professional schools. There are more than 5,000 on-campus students and 368 teachers.
